The Remathau Community of Hilo gathered for a fantastic day of fun and service, cheerfully transforming a 2-acre property in the Mountain View area! We kicked things off by playfully attacking those pesky weeds and grasses in the front, proving how awesome good neighbors can be. Then, we zoomed over to the right border line, from the back pin all the way to the front, making some serious headway! Plus, we sprinkled in a few citrus plants and planted a couple of ulu trees while tackling the grassy area. We might not have checked off every box, but what a lively start to the adventure!
A big shout out to Banser, Abraham, Jay, and Calson for proudly representing the Remathau Community of Hilo. And let’s not forget aunty Inesa and her brave crew for weathering the rain and chill (lol) to whip us up some delicious fiefi of chayote!
It was such a joyful day for me, witnessing how much we accomplished with a small crew! Sure, the real challenge is getting everyone out, but hey, we all understand the juggling act our Ohana faces daily.
Get excited, because Jeremy and Halor will be leading our next Community Work Day! We’ll be back at it, clearing and planting tons and tons of fruity trees. Can’t wait for that day!
