Our Uncle’s Surprise Visit: A Joyous Reunion with Uncle Resyo Wichep
Our uncle’s recent visit to Seattle was an absolute blast! We hadn’t seen him since he graciously hosted our wedding reception back home in Sokehs, Pohnpei, all the way back in June of 1991. It was such a delight to welcome him here and show him around our beloved city.
We started off by taking him on the ferry, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The views of the Puget Sound and the Seattle skyline were simply breathtaking. Next, we took him to the Boeing Factory in Renton, where he marveled at the engineering feats and the sheer scale of the aircraft production. Finally, we spent a lovely afternoon by the serene waters of Lake Washington, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere and reminiscing about the good old days.
Boeing Factory in Renton, we explained to our uncle, is the only place the 737 models of Boeing Commercial airplanes are being made, including the ones servicing the islands of Micronesia, which Pohnpei is the capitol state.
It was truly a special and memorable visit, filled with laughter, stories, and the warmth of family. We feel so fortunate to have had this opportunity to reconnect with our dear uncle and create new cherished memories together.
