A Wellness Retreat to the Sunshine State of Florida

Rewarding Ourselves: A Wellness Retreat in the Sunshine State

After finally accomplishing the American dream of owning our own home, my family and I decided to treat ourselves to a much-needed wellness retreat in the sunshine state of Florida. We were thrilled to bring along our youngest son, who had never flown on an airplane before.

As an added bonus, we had the opportunity to meet our Ifalik family, who reside in the state. Our hotel was located on the beautiful Treasure Island, not too far from the stunning Clearwater Beach.

During our stay, we indulged in the warm, tropical weather, taking in the breathtaking views and enjoying quality time together as a family. It was the perfect way to recharge and celebrate our recent accomplishment.

While in Florida, I always look forward to spending my days on the sun-kissed beaches and immersing myself in the refreshing ocean waters. However, this time, my partner had a different agenda – they were eager to embark on a shopping spree to find the perfect gifts for our grandchildren, the adorable Coco and Rosie. Although our interests diverged, we found a way to compromise and make the most of our time in the Sunshine State.

Our Last Day in Florida: A Rainy Farewell

As we bid farewell to the Sunshine State on our last day in Florida, the heavens opened up and the rain poured down. It was as if the state itself was shedding tears, mourning our departure. The gloomy skies seemed to mirror our own bittersweet emotions as we prepared to leave this beautiful place behind.

Despite the rain, we made our way to the airport several hours early, and it turned out to be a wise decision. All flights to Denver, where we were supposed to connect to the final leg back to Seattle, were cancelled due to a snowstorm. But the airline employees were quick to act, finding us seats on a different airline for a direct flight to our final destination – home in Seattle.

As we took off, leaving the rain-soaked Florida landscape behind, we couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief and gratitude. The unexpected challenges of our journey had only served to remind us of the importance of being prepared and adaptable. And though we were sad to say goodbye to the Sunshine State, we knew that the memories we had made would stay with us forever.
